Biotech is the career of choice for any who have the urge to solve the biological mysteries of Hive. Or cut things up to see what happens. Biotechs have access to two skills usable in the field to find out what that enemy was, and how to kill the next one faster.

Aside from their practical uses in the field, biotechs are also the main source of tonics, stimulants and other, more sinister concoctions.



In order to craft items, biotechs first need components scavenged from the wastes, pillaged from the unsuspecting, or purchased from the merchants present in the Hive.

There are four tiers of component; Crude, Worn, Standard Issue and Prototype. Depending on the complexity and potency of the target item, different tiers of components may be required. But not everyone can jam the super complicated doohickey into the whoseywhatter.. Biotechs must train up before using such components.


A biotech can, among other things, craft stimulants to restore player hit points instantly in combat, upgrades to surgical proceedings, and upgrades to players, allowing them to survive environments they may not have been able to survive before. But don't let that limit your creativity! Who knows what a mad scientist.. I mean biotech.. can achieve with the right experimenting.


A quickstim can be applied to a fallen ally to instantly restore them to 1 hit, and return to active state.


A hyper-stim has the same effect as a quickstim, but restores 4 hit points instead of 1.



By appraising a component, you may look into what the component is, what it does and with what tech it is used. If it is of a tech you do not have any skill in, you only find out its description. Take the component to the tech-bench and wait till a ref appears. Tell the ref your appraise skill is and in what tech it is, hand over the lammy and they will tell you what you have found out. This process should take approximately 30 seconds of roleplay.


Diagnose is a skill you use whilst in the arena. Go to whatever you are trying to diagnose and motion over a ref or shout “Diagnosing”. Role-play for 60 seconds and then tell the ref your diagnosing level. He will either tell you there or back in the briefing room depending on complexity. You cannot make any other actions whilst diagnosing. Moving, using a skill or using a weapon will reset the diagnosis.
